[Shortly after this conversation, someone's trying to contact tiny Tim through the comms]

[Right. So. After he fled his horrible first meeting with the Red Hood, Robin had ended up in one of the few boltholes he'd already scoped out in the city and okay'd for at least temporary use until he can establish something better. It gives him some time to calm down, think about what just happened, and let his power turn off because he was having trouble getting it to happen as easily as it had in the past.

No one else he encountered on the way there seemed hurt, though, which seems to confirm his current theory, which is that it hurt Jason because they were already engaged in a conversation. That's... useful to know, and he tucks away the knowledge for the future.

In the meantime, though, he's still tucked away all safe and sound when he hears someone asking for him. For a few moments, he's tempted to ignore it, but that seems kind of shitty when he was the one to unintentionally hurt Jason. Even if, given options, he'd probably leave Jason on the avoid for everyone's sake list for at least a few days now.]

Hood.

Yeah. Can we talk? Outside of the costumes I mean.

[Being in their suits gives off a particular mood when talking to each other. Maybe the tension can be eased if they looked like civilians instead]

[Seeing as how it went so well the last time.]

Yeah. Coffee, hang at my bar, or something. Not unless you want this to be a work talk.

[It's not like Jason gave him the impression he particularly wanted to talk to him before.]

Because we got off on the wrong foot. I'm not mad at you. I was never mad at you. What happened before was an accident. It's not your fault.

What makes you so sure of that?

[It was an accident, but why's Jason convinced of that?]

[What an odd question to ask. Does Tim think Jason thinks the worst of him?]

What else would it be? You were just as surprised as I was when I got that headache.

[He's quiet for a moment.]

I know. You only just got here. It'd make sense that you don't know everything about your powers yet.

[He's quiet for a moment again.]

I didn't think you'd want to talk to me.

Because of what just happened? Or because of all the stuff I was saying before?

[The conversation with older Tim was... not comfortable but necessary and might've given Jason a little better insight]

My problems are with the old man only. No one else. You took up the cape because you wanted to help. Just like how Big Bird wanted to and just like how I wanted to. We're the same on that front.

But it's changed.

[He just doesn't want an angry Jason again, okay.]

What's changed? Me?

[He's not offended though. There's no doubt how much he's changed from the 12-year-old who wanted to help Batman fight crime]

Yeah.

[And he may not be angry at Tim, personally, but he's clearly angry at something Robin represents. Which is a problem.]

Yeah. I have. A lot happened to me after I died. But this is just my personal problem. It has nothing to do with you.

What do you know about me?

[Sure it doesn't have anything to do with Tim. Even if it really didn't, and Tim was just a convenient target, that's still - it's worrying.]

I never got to meet the Jason Todd on my world, before he - before he died.

So far as you know, he's dead?

[Part of him wants to say that Tim should get his Bruce to double check the coffin but he wants to be focused on Tim tonight]

[As far as he knows. And it’s not like he can do anything to check on that now. He’s thought of it.]
